There is sending a message. Then there is sending a message.
No matter how you decide to look at it, that is what the No. 7 Cardinals did Thursday afternoon. They got the attention of the rest of Region XIV Conference with a 10-4 and 9-2 road sweep of No. 14 Paris in a twinbill played at Paris High School.
Coach Maria Winn-Ratliff's squad won for a 14th straight time to up its season record to a sparkling 36-4. The Cardinals are 11-1 in conference. Paris slipped to 35-7 and 9-3.
The Cardinals are scheduled to be back in action Saturday at Tyler in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. Tyler, which owns a win against the Cardinals, is 25-11 and 8-4.
The Cardinals' next home doubleheader is Wednesday, April 1 against Kilgore at 2 p.m.

GAME 1
Cardinals 10, Paris 4
Addison Wittram smacked two home runs and drove in four runs to lead the Cardinals in the first game.
Wittram was not alone going yard. Sydney Murphy and Kiara Wiedenhaupt also fence-clearers.
Collecting doubles in the Cardinals' 11-hit effort were Alizah Fields, Abby Hollingsworth, Murphy and Wiedenhaupt.
The Cardinals scored five runs in the sixth and seventh innings to put the game away.
Mirana Pena went the distance in the circle to get the win. She gave up seven hits and struck out seven.
GAME 2
Cardinals 9, Paris 2
The Cardinals used a three home-run attack to torpedo Paris in the second game.
Murphy, Fields and Wiedenhaupt clobbered pitches and departed them for the heavens. Fields had a two-run shot to get the Cardinals on the scoreboard first in the second inning.
Molly Gilbert and Jade McQueen each had a double.
Picking up the win in the circle was Dominique Vargas. She went all the way, giving up six hits and striking out six.
